About Saddle & Soul Equine Centre
Saddle & Soul Equine Centre is a boutique equine rehabilitation and mindful experience property located in Glenrowan, Victoria’s High Country.
Horses are not an accessory to what we do, they are the reason we exist. Our purpose is simple:
To support horses to live well, recover well and be understood well.
From this foundation, meaningful human experiences naturally follow.
Here, horses come first - their wellbeing, their emotional state, their nervous system, their environment. When horses are supported to feel safe and balanced, the space becomes one of quiet connection, presence and mutual respect.
Saddle & Soul is not a riding school, nor is it a commercial tourism trail riding centre. It is a calm, considered environment where rehabilitation, recovery and mindful interaction take priority over performance.
Our Vision
To create a small, purpose-driven equine property where horses are rehabilitated with integrity and people experience grounded, authentic connection in their presence.
Our Values
Horse Wellbeing First
Every decision, from land management to interaction, prioritises the physical, emotional and behavioural health of the horses.
Ethical & Natural Care
We believe in thoughtful, holistic management practices that respect the horse’s nature and nervous system.
Partnership Through Understanding
True connection begins with listening. We value patience, clarity and consistency in all horse-human interactions.
Education with Integrity
We believe in sharing practical, experience-based knowledge that builds deeper understanding of horses and supports confident, informed horsemanship.
Community with Boundaries
We welcome those who respect the ethos of the centre and value calm, considered horsemanship.
The Story Behind Saddle & Soul
Saddle & Soul is guided by Alana Robins, an equine advocate, business strategist and lifelong horsewoman whose journey bridges both the paddock and the boardroom.
Raised on a 3,500-acre sheep and grain farm in Western Australia’s wheatbelt, Alana’s childhood was shaped by rural landscapes, working horses and caring for rescued animals. Horses were not a pastime, they were part of daily life.
That early foundation instilled a deep respect for horses as intelligent, sensitive and sentient beings deserving of clarity, fairness and thoughtful care.
Beyond the paddock, Alana has built a substantial career in business, finance and leadership across multiple industries in Australia and internationally. She is the founder of IronBark Equine & Rural Business Services, helping rural and equine enterprises with financial support, operational systems and sustainable growth.
She is also the founder of The Equine Apothecary, a horse health and nutrition business servicing clients Australia-wide. Through this work, Alana supports horse owners with natural nutrition strategies, herbal support and holistic management approaches, knowledge that directly informs the rehabilitation philosophy at Saddle & Soul.
This rare combination of practical horsemanship, business acumen and holistic health expertise shapes the centre today - heart-led, but professionally grounded.
Her background in natural human health and trauma-informed approaches also influences the way horses and people are supported on the property, particularly within rehabilitation programs and equine-assisted support sessions.
