Our Herd
At the heart of Saddle & Soul Equine Centre is our wonderful and diverse herd of horses and ponies. They come in all shapes, sizes, breeds and backgrounds. Some are young, some are enjoying their later years, and others have come to us after lives that haven't always been easy. Each has their own personality, quirks, preferences and story. Our horses aren't just tools that we use, they are beloved members of our family, and we are devoted to them.
We believe every horse deserves kindness, respect, understanding and the opportunity to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life. Our herd may not be champions, have impressive pedigrees or carry much monetary value, but to us, every one of them is priceless.

Our Rehabilitation Horses
Quite a number of the horses and ponies in our herd have come to us needing rehabilitation, having experienced physical challenges, emotional trauma, abuse, neglect or difficult circumstances in their earlier lives.
With patience, understanding, appropriate care and time, we've had the privilege of helping them rebuild their health, confidence and trust. Many have gone on to become much-loved members of our herd, each with their own story of resilience and recovery.
Alongside caring for our resident herd, we aim to take on one new rehabilitation case at a time, providing individualised care, veterinary attention, appropriate nutrition and the time and support each horse needs.
Our hope is to give every horse the best possible opportunity for a healthier, happier future, whether that means remaining with us or eventually finding a wonderful new home.
Meet Franci
Our Current Rehabilitation Horse
Franci is a beautiful 10-year-old Clydesdale mare who arrived at Saddle & Soul in September 2026 in an extremely poor and fragile condition. Severely underweight and struggling with dental issues that made eating difficult, Franci needed immediate veterinary attention, specialised nutrition and ongoing supportive care.
Despite everything, Franci has a beautiful, gentle nature, and we're determined to give her every opportunity to recover and enjoy the life she deserves. Her rehabilitation is a long-term commitment, involving veterinary treatment, dental care, carefully managed feeding and plenty of patience and love.
We have established a GoFundMe to help with the significant costs of Franci's rehabilitation. If you have the means, we'd be so grateful for any contribution towards her recovery. Feel free to follow along on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
